JORDAN REYES
Dallas, TX · (555) 010-0148 · jordan.reyes@email.com
Passport valid through Mar 2032 · Spanish (fluent) · Willing to report to any assigned base

SAFETY AND SERVICE PROFILE
Hotel supervisor who recovers angry guests without matching their volume, enforces house rules when it costs a booking, and keeps a short-staffed floor moving. Applying for Flight Attendant Trainee — not for the destinations.

EXPERIENCE
Front Desk Supervisor — Harborline Hotel, Dallas, TX
Mar 2022 – Present
• Recovered 8–12 guest failures a week (missed rooms, late arrivals, billing) without raising my voice; followed up before the next shift inherited the same problem
• Enforced ID, occupancy, and pool-safety rules when it was inconvenient, including walking revenue when documents did not match
• Trained 11 new hires on radio brevity, emergency assembly points, and when to call a manager instead of improvising
• Covered night audit and two departments on call-outs; never left a solo agent on a full house

Guest Services Associate — Harborline Hotel, Dallas, TX
Jun 2020 – Mar 2022
• Ran a 180-room front desk through COVID occupancy swings and last-minute crew bookings
• Documented incidents in the log the same hour they happened so the next agent was not guessing
• Learned every guest’s name on the 6 a.m. inbound — small, and it is the whole job

Barista / Shift Lead — Northside Coffee, Fort Worth, TX
Aug 2018 – Jun 2020
• Opened the store, counted the till, and de-escalated rush-hour mistakes before they became Yelp
• Built the close-out checklist the owner still uses

EDUCATION
High School Diploma — North Dallas High School, 2018

SKILLS THE CABIN ACTUALLY USES
De-escalation · Incident logs · Training new hires · Spanish · Standing 8–10 hour shifts · Radio / headset brevity
One-page resume — healthcare, military, education

Same bones. The cabin does not require prior flying. It requires a record of people and rules.

Passport valid through Nov 2031 · Basic ASL · Willing to relocate within 5 days of graduation

SAFETY AND SERVICE PROFILE
Emergency department tech moving to cabin crew. Five years of triaging upset families, enforcing clinical rules, and staying when the board is red. The uniform changes. The work does not.

EXPERIENCE
Emergency Department Technician — St. Helen Medical Center, Chicago, IL
Jan 2021 – Present
• Kept 12–18 patients and families oriented during waits of 4+ hours without promising what I could not control
• Enforced visitor, PPE, and safety rules with physicians in the room — the rule did not move because someone was important
• Called out my own charting error the same shift and corrected it before it reached the next nurse
• Lifted, transferred, and stood for 12-hour shifts; zero attendance issues in 24 months

Patient Transporter — St. Helen Medical Center, Chicago, IL
Sep 2019 – Jan 2021
• Moved patients on tight OR schedules; radioed delays instead of disappearing
• Learned names, not bed numbers, on repeat transfers

US Army — 68W Combat Medic (Honorably Discharged)
Jun 2015 – Jun 2019
• Treated under noise and time pressure; wrote the note before I sat down
• Trained junior medics on kit layout so the next person could find anything in the dark

EDUCATION
EMT-Basic, Illinois · High School Diploma, 2015

SKILLS THE CABIN ACTUALLY USES
Triage language · Family de-escalation · Documentation · 12-hour endurance · Following a protocol when it is unpopular
Cover letter — 250 words, no Cancun

American often does not read one. Other carriers still might. Do not attach it to the DFW day unless the email asked.

I am applying for Flight Attendant Trainee. I do not need a speech about destinations. I already do this job in another uniform: safety first, then the person having a worse day than mine.

At [current workplace], I [one STAR in four lines: situation, what was at risk, what you did with your hands, how it ended for the other person]. That is the cabin. The fuselage is new.

I can report to an assigned base within five days of graduation. My passport is valid through 31 December 2027. I have six stories ready for the video and the DFW day; I will not spend either of those asking about jumpseats.

Thank you for the review.

24-month work history worksheet

This is what the ATS actually scores. Fill it before opening night.

24-MONTH WORK / SCHOOL HISTORY
American (and most mainline ATS forms) want month and year, not “2023–present” with a shrug. Fill this first, then copy into the application.

[Job title] — [Employer], [City, ST]
[Mon YYYY] – [Mon YYYY or Present]
Hours per week:
Why you left (one sentence, no bitterness):
Manager name / phone (only if the form asks):

[Job title] — [Employer], [City, ST]
[Mon YYYY] – [Mon YYYY]
Hours per week:
Why you left:

[School, if it fills a gap] — [School name]
[Mon YYYY] – [Mon YYYY]
Program / diploma:

GAP (if any)
[Mon YYYY] – [Mon YYYY]
One sentence: caregiving, layoff, move, medical. Do not leave a silent hole.

CHECK BEFORE YOU HIT SUBMIT
[ ] Every month in the last 24 is accounted for
[ ] Passport expiration is typed the way the form asked (through 31 Dec 2027 for American)
[ ] Phone number will actually ring during the 72-hour video window
[ ] No “see resume” in a required field
Opening-night task list

Finish this before the button exists. The people who progress are not the people who refresh fastest.

UNTIL THE WINGS · OPENING-NIGHT TASK LIST
American target this cycle: 5 Oct 2026. Dates have already slipped. Do not live on the clock.

72 HOURS BEFORE

[ ] 24-month work/school history with month/year, no silent gaps

[ ] Phone that will ring during the 72-hour video window
[ ] Quiet room, charger, camera at eye level, plain wall
[ ] Six STAR stories spoken out loud once (not memorized as a speech)

THE NIGHT IT OPENS
[ ] Apply from the laptop, not a phone in a parking lot

[ ] Screenshot the confirmation number
[ ] If the site 500s: wait, retry, do not create a second profile
[ ] Start AON the same sitting if the email is already there

AFTER YOU SUBMIT
[ ] Watch email and spam for 72 hours
[ ] Do not quit a job on “in review”
[ ] Do not post your status in a Facebook group for strangers to diagnose

The date history

Most career blogs will reprint “applications open October 5” and move on. That is how people get burned.

  1. August 24, 2026

Original countdown on the official careers page. Date passed. Window did not open.

  2. September 14, 2026

Second published target. Date passed. Window did not open.

  3. September 7, 2026

A third date appeared in the shuffle. Did not hold.

  4. Mid-September 2026

  5. Now

Official copy: Applications open Oct. 5. Training for this class: 2027.

The process American is publishing

  1. 01

    Apply to Fly

Watch the Before You Board video. Submit the application. Confirm eligibility. Complete the AON assessment in the same sitting if you can. Most people never leave this step.

  2. 02

    Meet Me

Self-recorded introduction answering situational questions. Official page: complete within 72 hours of the invite.

  3. 03

    Crew Interview

Virtual 2-on-1 with recruiting. They score judgment, listening, and whether you sound like someone who can take a cabin.

  4. 04

    In-Person Experience

On-campus at DFW. 2-on-1 interview plus essential job functions (reach, jumpseat, presence). Business professional. Passport through December 31, 2027 plus a second ID.

  5. 05

    Pre-employment

Drug screen, background check, two years of employment history, fingerprinting. Conditional offers typically must be accepted within 3 days.

  6. 06

    Seven-week training

Robert L. Crandall Campus, Fort Worth. Unpaid. Housing and three meals provided. Base assigned week 3. Report within 5 days of graduation. Six-month probation.

Paraphrased from r/cabincrewcareers, r/flightattendants, and drops we have checked. Not policy. Full list on the floor notes page.

Apply the hour it is actually live

Windows have closed in hours at other carriers. On American, people who wait for “tomorrow morning” still get in some cycles — and miss others. Have the profile, resume, and passport date already in the system.

r/cabincrewcareers

Junk mail is part of the process

Invites for video and DFW land in spam. People have missed F2F because they only checked the jobs portal. Watch both.

r/cabincrewcareers

The portal lying is a known glitch

After the video, the profile often still says “complete assessment.” Multiple threads: it clears after recruiting review. Email if a recording actually failed. Do not re-record into a black hole.

r/cabincrewcareers, 2025–26 threads

Do not pay someone to sit the assessment

Someone posted in the public AA interviewees group asking for paid help on the test. The replies were blunt: integrity is the job. If you cannot sit AON alone, you will not sit a cabin.

Facebook · AA Flight Attendant interviewees

Timelines are not a schedule

Reported paths: apply and assess same day; video invite in a week; F2F two to four weeks later. Other people sat for months. F2F date options have been as tight as five days. Do not quit a job on a “you’re still in the running” silence.

r/cabincrewcareers timelines

Application to wings is months, not a weekend

Public group examples from the last cycle: applied in January, training in April. Another: applied in September, CJO in October, wings the following spring. This next American class is officially a 2027 training pipeline. Do not quit a job on a portal status of “in review.”

Facebook · AA Flight Attendant interviewees

The group says 12 months + one day. The FAQ says one year.

Checked 20 Sep 2026 against flightattendants.aa.com/faq.html: if the application is denied or withdrawn, wait one year from the date of the last communication. If you do not answer a training-class invitation within three days, the application is withdrawn — wait six months. jobs.aa.com leftover listings still print both “six months and one day” and “twelve months and one day.” That is why the cafeteria argues. Use the FAQ, not a listing footer. Calculate from American’s date. Do not submit while you know you are inside the window.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026 vs official FAQ

Withdrawing a CJO is not settled in the group

People who could not attend training asked whether the one-year rule applies. Official copy covers “denied or withdrawn” and a six-month wait if you ignore a class invitation. It does not spell out “I accepted, then I could not go.” Do not assume it is a TBNT. Ask AA Recruiting in writing and keep the reply.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Answer the prior-application question exactly

One person answered “yes” to applying inside six months and saw “not selected” immediately. If the form asks, tell the truth. Submitting while you are clearly ineligible is how you restart the clock.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Pending is not a TBNT

A quiet portal later turned into an ODVI / Meet Me invite. Official FAQ: high interest, it may take time, they email next steps. A new window opening is also not proof that every pending file was rejected.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

If the profile shows an application you did not submit

Do not guess. Screenshot it. Email candidate support / Recruiting. Do not start a second file on top of a glitch.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Drug-screen fights go through the vendor, not the group

A CJO holder asked how to contest a result and attach medication or lab paper. The cafeteria will diagnose you. Follow the testing vendor and American’s written instructions the same day. Keep copies.
