What Reddit and Facebook actually say

This is the page most people come for. Official copy tells you the rules. The floor tells you who got sent home for a passport, who emailed support when the recorder died, and who asked about jumpseats too early. Paraphrased from public threads. We do not paste private Facebook posts.

Where to read

r/cabincrewcareers

Public. Search “AA”, “F2F”, “Meet Me”, “ODVI”. Timelines and day-of reports live here.

r/flightattendants

People already on the line. Better for reserve, crash pads, and “is this base livable.”

American Airlines Flight Attendant interviewees (Facebook)

Public, ~8.7k. Cafeteria, not policy. Harvest 20 Sep 2026: paraphrases only — no names, no private-group paste. Official FAQ still wins on wait periods.

Private, ~25k members, run by current FAs. Request to join. Admins ask that what is shared stays in the group — we do not paste those threads here.

The Cabin Crew Forum

Best public log of American’s moving application dates this cycle.

Application

Apply the hour it is actually live

Windows have closed in hours at other carriers. On American, people who wait for “tomorrow morning” still get in some cycles — and miss others. Have the profile, resume, and passport date already in the system.

r/cabincrewcareers

Junk mail is part of the process

Invites for video and DFW land in spam. People have missed F2F because they only checked the jobs portal. Watch both.

r/cabincrewcareers

The portal lying is a known glitch

After the video, the profile often still says “complete assessment.” Multiple threads: it clears after recruiting review. Email if a recording actually failed. Do not re-record into a black hole.

r/cabincrewcareers, 2025–26 threads

Do not pay someone to sit the assessment

Someone posted in the public AA interviewees group asking for paid help on the test. The replies were blunt: integrity is the job. If you cannot sit AON alone, you will not sit a cabin.

Facebook · AA Flight Attendant interviewees

Timelines are not a schedule

Reported paths: apply and assess same day; video invite in a week; F2F two to four weeks later. Other people sat for months. F2F date options have been as tight as five days. Do not quit a job on a “you’re still in the running” silence.

r/cabincrewcareers timelines

Application to wings is months, not a weekend

Public group examples from the last cycle: applied in January, training in April. Another: applied in September, CJO in October, wings the following spring. This next American class is officially a 2027 training pipeline. Do not quit a job on a portal status of “in review.”

Facebook · AA Flight Attendant interviewees

The group says 12 months + one day. The FAQ says one year.

Checked 20 Sep 2026 against flightattendants.aa.com/faq.html: if the application is denied or withdrawn, wait one year from the date of the last communication. If you do not answer a training-class invitation within three days, the application is withdrawn — wait six months. jobs.aa.com leftover listings still print both “six months and one day” and “twelve months and one day.” That is why the cafeteria argues. Use the FAQ, not a listing footer. Calculate from American’s date. Do not submit while you know you are inside the window.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026 vs official FAQ

Withdrawing a CJO is not settled in the group

People who could not attend training asked whether the one-year rule applies. Official copy covers “denied or withdrawn” and a six-month wait if you ignore a class invitation. It does not spell out “I accepted, then I could not go.” Do not assume it is a TBNT. Ask AA Recruiting in writing and keep the reply.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Answer the prior-application question exactly

One person answered “yes” to applying inside six months and saw “not selected” immediately. If the form asks, tell the truth. Submitting while you are clearly ineligible is how you restart the clock.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Pending is not a TBNT

A quiet portal later turned into an ODVI / Meet Me invite. Official FAQ: high interest, it may take time, they email next steps. A new window opening is also not proof that every pending file was rejected.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

If the profile shows an application you did not submit

Do not guess. Screenshot it. Email candidate support / Recruiting. Do not start a second file on top of a glitch.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Drug-screen fights go through the vendor, not the group

A CJO holder asked how to contest a result and attach medication or lab paper. The cafeteria will diagnose you. Follow the testing vendor and American’s written instructions the same day. Keep copies.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Video / Meet Me

The practice take is the only retry

Candidates say the practice question is the one you can redo. A live prompt that glitches is not a do-over unless support resets it. If the recorder dies mid-answer, email the address in the invite the same hour.

r/cabincrewcareers ODVI / Meet Me threads

Feeling like you bombed is not a result

Overtime, filler words, “I’m a little nervous,” a ramble you cut short — people who wrote all of that still got F2F and CJOs. Recruiters are not grading a TED talk. They are grading whether you can finish a thought.

r/cabincrewcareers

Prompts people keep reporting

Not a leaked script, and the set changes: why American, what makes a good flight attendant, a difficult customer, a coworker who is drinking at work, a safety-vs-service bind. Keep five stories, not fifteen memorized speeches.

r/cabincrewcareers, 2025–26 reports

Do not read a cheat sheet

Eyes dropping to notes reads as a recording of a recording. Bullet the story in your head. Look at the camera lens, not your own face.

r/cabincrewcareers + Cabin Crew Forum video guides

ODVI can follow a quiet stretch

Pending recruiting review is not a closed door. The invite describes a self-guided video, situational questions, and a practice question. Test the setup. Use the practice. Then record.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

In person, DFW

They already decided you were worth the ticket

A public-group write-up that keeps getting shared: by the time you walk into the building, American has already spent weeks on your resume, assessment, and video. Flying you to DFW is confirmation, not a cold start. That is why the lobby still counts.

Facebook · AA Flight Attendant interviewees

No passport, you go home

Repeated, including from people who watched it happen in the lobby. Current official bar: valid through December 31, 2027. Bring a second ID. Some CJO-day reports also brought a Social Security card to speed paperwork — that is optional, the passport is not.

r/cabincrewcareers F2F threads

Early is on time

Recruiters have used the phrase on the day. Fly in the night before if you can. Eat a real meal first — several write-ups say no real food for hours, snacks late. Water for the person next to you is the oldest useful trick in the thread.

r/cabincrewcareers

Do not print a resume unless they ask

Recent CJO holders: American has told some classes to bring the passport and nothing extra. Older posts said bring a folio. Follow the email for your date, not a 2022 blog.

r/cabincrewcareers, 2026 reports

Do not ask about flight benefits

This is the most repeated kill-shot in the Facebook-adjacent advice that leaks onto Reddit. You do not have the job. Ask about training week structure or what makes a new hire succeed on reserve.

r/cabincrewcareers F2F tips

Cover tattoos like you will on the line

People have been sent home for visible ink and extra piercings. Cover with approved makeup, not a fashion sleeve or a bandage. One earring per lobe. Burgundy or red nails have gotten CJOs; extra facial jewelry has ended the day.

r/cabincrewcareers appearance threads

The whole campus is the interview

CJO write-ups: you are watched in the lobby, the shuttle, the break. Do not drill notes in the corner. Talk to people. Do not take over the room. Introverts leave with offers; fake-bubbly people get cut. Answer the question that was asked, in the shape they asked it.

r/cabincrewcareers F2F experience posts

Hotel rules change by class

Older threads: you booked and paid a hotel, shuttle to Skyview. Current official FAQ: American provides travel if you are outside DFW. Read your itinerary. If you are on your own dime, a property with a shuttle to campus beats a prettier one downtown.

r/cabincrewcareers vs flightattendants.aa.com FAQ

Eat before you walk in

One write-up blamed a foggy F2F on arriving hungry. Official day is long. A real meal first. A snack if they allow it. This is not a fast.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Over-rehearsed reads as over-rehearsed

A CJO holder’s line: breathe, sound like yourself, answer the question that was asked. The cafeteria already said the lobby counts. Same rule: do not perform a script at people.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Training

Sleep, study group, no drama

Washouts happen, including days before graduation. People who passed: vitamins, rest, a study group, made-up mnemonics, stay out of hotel noise. Instructors repeat “trust the process” — do not read three modules ahead and confuse yourself.

r/cabincrewcareers training threads

The tests are the job

You’ll hear “KSV.” Those are the scored knowledge checks. Attendance is a scored behavior. Hotel conduct gets reported. You can fail training and reapply later — they will ask if you have been through it.

r/cabincrewcareers

Retests are limited. Spend them.

One trainee near week four had already used a first retest and was looking at a final retest, an evacuation drill, and OE. Another cited a 50-question check with an 80% bar after studying into the mid-90s. That number is a report, not a published standard. Ask the instant a topic is weak. Do not wait for the last attempt.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

The hard part is the stack

Classroom, drills, retests, and OE can overlap. Sleep, structured review, water. People who wait until they are drowning stay drowning. Instructors exist before the last retest.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Reserve

CLT is a wish, not a promise

Charlotte comes up as a hometown base. The thread did not produce odds. Official: assigned in week 3; preferences considered; LAX and PHX are usually not initial. Budget a commute or a different city. The company does not pay to move you.

Facebook · AA interviewees · harvest Sep 20, 2026

Live inside the report, or don’t commute

Line FAs on r/flightattendants: 12-hour RAPs, 2-hour callout (3 at co-terminals), bid the night before around 3 p.m. local. Crash pads exist because a 90-minute commute plus traffic is how people miss reserve. Junior weekends are the nights everyone else calls out.

r/flightattendants

How to use the groups

There is no “too old” in the group

A 48-year-old with a high-school diploma and two languages asked if the career had passed her. The public group’s answer was the usual one: classes mix ages; the filter is the process, not a birthday. Official bar is 20 at application, no published ceiling.

Facebook · AA Flight Attendant interviewees

Two Facebook groups, two rules

The public “American Airlines Flight Attendant interviewees” group is linkable and search-indexed. The larger 2025–26 interviewees group is private and asks that screenshots stay inside. Cross-check dates against flightattendants.aa.com either way. We cannot log into Facebook, so the live feed is not a source we can crawl.

Official clock: 12 months from the first application

Checked 20 Sep 2026 on careers.united.com flight-attendant information: after you are rejected from the assessment or an interview, you may re-apply after 12 months from the date you submitted the initial application. The cafeteria says that clock still runs after an F2F no-show or a withdrawal. United’s page does not spell those cases. Ask Recruiting. Do not treat a group comment as the date.

United · apply

Hang Tight is a holding pattern, not a TBNT

Official: high demand; no news is not necessarily a no; they email next steps. Floor: August applicants got two Hang Tight emails with the portal still “under review.” A July pre-record sat the same way. September 9–10 apply/assess people reported ODVI within days; a 2026-4 late-July batch was still waiting for a button. Watch email and the profile. Do not spam a second date.

The portal lags the email

One person got a CTO while the profile still said Interview. Another saw Not Selected after the 1:1 and was told that means you are not moving — a TBNT email may follow. Official status lives on the candidate profile and the email, not a Facebook decode.

Do not assume another airline’s ALTA transfers

ODVI format is in the invite, not the group

Peers described about eight items: roughly three recorded scenarios, some typed/rule questions, a written close. Retake rules were unclear. One person said they restarted after fumbling and did better — that is one story, not a policy. Test camera, light, wall. Answer the assessment the same way twice if they rephrase it. Official Path to Inflight: in-person at Houston, group plus 1:1, flight voucher if you are not local, two in-person attempts in five years. Floor: dates include Thursdays, not only Mon–Wed. Class dates move. The manual wins on shoes.

Peers: offer mid-September, class late November into January; holidays may push. That is a report, not a roster. Men’s dress shoes “no laces” showed up once — read the training packet you are sent. Official process after Houston is a Conditional Training Offer, then DOT checks, drug screen, fingerprints, vision/hearing, then training.

Hopeful UA FAs · harvest Sep 20, 2026

United · reserve

78 hours is contract. 24-hour RAP is the rumor to check.

AFA contract: reserves are guaranteed 78 hours pay and credit a month; unavailable days cut it. Floor still describes 24-hour on-call and ~12 days off. Peers also said a newer RAP system may shorten coverage. Read the current reserve guide, not a 2024 screenshot. Dropping a reserve day can cut the guarantee. Research the base before you take a regional CJO as a placeholder.

AFA contract vs Hopeful UA FAs · harvest Sep 20, 2026

United · general

United, Delta, and a regional CJO at once is normal — and messy

People were sitting United and Delta while walking Envoy or SkyWest F2Fs. Compare commute, probation, and the actual contract before you sign a regional as a backup. Do not paste United interview questions or recruiter names in the group. Pass-rider and dependent nonrev talk in that harvest was not solid enough to print as rules.
