United Airlines
United’s process is application, assessment, video, then Houston face-to-face and 6.5-week training. Confirm on careers.united.com — do not trust screenshots.

What they call the steps
- Watching
- Applied
- Video
- Houston
- CJO
- Training
- After wings
Resume, STAR stories, and the day-of playbook still apply. Swap the city. Do not say travel benefits. Put this airline on your desk so American’s dates do not overwrite these.

- Flight attendant information — requirements, reapply, “no news is not a no”
FAQ, checked 20 Sep 2026
- How long after a TBNT?
- Official: 12 months from the date you submitted the initial application, after a rejection from the assessment or an interview. The group says that also covers F2F no-show and withdrawal. United’s page does not. Ask Recruiting.
- What is Hang Tight?
- Cafeteria: a holding email while the portal stays under review. Official: high demand, they email next steps, silence is not necessarily a no.
- Where is the F2F?
- Official: Houston. Voucher if you are not local. Hotel is usually on you. Floor: Thursdays happen. Two in-person attempts in five years — official.
- ODVI question count?
- Peers: about eight items, three recorded. Retakes unclear. Use the invite in your inbox.
- Reserve hours?
- AFA contract: 78 hours pay and credit a month if you stay available. 24-hour RAP talk in the group is not the sentence we will treat as current — read this year’s reserve guide.

Official clock: 12 months from the first application
Checked 20 Sep 2026 on careers.united.com flight-attendant information: after you are rejected from the assessment or an interview, you may re-apply after 12 months from the date you submitted the initial application. The cafeteria says that clock still runs after an F2F no-show or a withdrawal. United’s page does not spell those cases. Ask Recruiting. Do not treat a group comment as the date.

Hang Tight is a holding pattern, not a TBNT
Official: high demand; no news is not necessarily a no; they email next steps. Floor: August applicants got two Hang Tight emails with the portal still “under review.” A July pre-record sat the same way. September 9–10 apply/assess people reported ODVI within days; a 2026-4 late-July batch was still waiting for a button. Watch email and the profile. Do not spam a second date.

The portal lags the email
One person got a CTO while the profile still said Interview. Another saw Not Selected after the 1:1 and was told that means you are not moving — a TBNT email may follow. Official status lives on the candidate profile and the email, not a Facebook decode.

Do not assume another airline’s ALTA transfers
People asked whether an assessment done for a different carrier can be reused at United before a year is up. No official answer in that harvest. Sit United’s assessment unless Recruiting tells you otherwise in writing.

ODVI format is in the invite, not the group
Peers described about eight items: roughly three recorded scenarios, some typed/rule questions, a written close. Retake rules were unclear. One person said they restarted after fumbling and did better — that is one story, not a policy. Test camera, light, wall. Answer the assessment the same way twice if they rephrase it. Official Path to Inflight: pre-record, then a 30-minute live virtual. STAR.

If a recruiter moves your 1:1, wait for that recruiter
Peers: do not grab a random open slot after a postpone. Live Zoom is short. Smile from the start. Situation, action, result. Ten stories beat fifteen speeches. Equipment check the hour before.

Houston. Two tries in five years.
Official Path to Inflight: in-person at Houston, group plus 1:1, flight voucher if you are not local, two in-person attempts in five years. Floor: dates include Thursdays, not only Mon–Wed. Arrive the day before. Pantsuits were common among people who left with a CTO — observation, not a rule. Conservative dress or a jacket. Do not room-share with a stranger from the group; they are not vetted.

training
Class dates move. The manual wins on shoes.
Peers: offer mid-September, class late November into January; holidays may push. That is a report, not a roster. Men’s dress shoes “no laces” showed up once — read the training packet you are sent. Official process after Houston is a Conditional Training Offer, then DOT checks, drug screen, fingerprints, vision/hearing, then training.

reserve
78 hours is contract. 24-hour RAP is the rumor to check.
AFA contract: reserves are guaranteed 78 hours pay and credit a month; unavailable days cut it. Floor still describes 24-hour on-call and ~12 days off. Peers also said a newer RAP system may shorten coverage. Read the current reserve guide, not a 2024 screenshot. Dropping a reserve day can cut the guarantee. Research the base before you take a regional CJO as a placeholder.

general
United, Delta, and a regional CJO at once is normal — and messy
People were sitting United and Delta while walking Envoy or SkyWest F2Fs. Compare commute, probation, and the actual contract before you sign a regional as a backup. Do not paste United interview questions or recruiter names in the group. Pass-rider and dependent nonrev talk in that harvest was not solid enough to print as rules.
